67/365 In Transit (London, England)

  67/365 – In Transit

I took this picture while transiting through Heathrow Airport in London this morning.  Walking through this transit lounge always feels chaotic to me, like wading through a sea of people who all seem to be in a hurry to get someplace else. Large groups of travelers sit in row after row of chairs, all attached together so that it’s impossible to move them, while others push past you to get to wherever it is they’re going.

Everyone is in transit. Everyone has somewhere to be.

But looking at the same space from above has a completely different feeling. What once felt like an area of chaos, transforms into organized little pods of people, seated, patiently waiting for the next gate number to be announced. From the higher vantage point things look orderly and less hectic.

Nobody appears to be in a hurry and nobody seems to have anywhere to be.
