 104/365 – Daikaya

Daikaya is truly on of the best ramen shops in DC. With noodles flown in from Sapporo, Japan, the actual shop is quite small with communal tables, loud music and a constant bustle of activity, with a very limited menu of ramen, gyozo and beer.  On any given night one can find a crowd of people out in front of the restaurant (or in the vestibule if it’s cold) not put off in the least by the 30-45 minute minimum wait, which is completely validated after slurping up a chopstick full of hot, chewy noodles followed by a long drink of cold Japanese beer.

Simply delicious.
