I went for a walk on my last day in Rome and came upon a group of very well dressed people outside of a church in a small piazza, waiting for the bride and groom who were just married to come out. I waited with the other onlookers and when the bride and groom emerged they were greeted with whoops and cheers and after ducking the confetti, the groom swooped up his bride in an act of unguarded affection.
I love this shot because it captures that moment-right before the kiss, when the whole world stands still and there is nothing but hope and love between two people. Though nothing can ever capture that moment perfectly, to be a witness to it is to see love in it’s purest form.
Very few things in life could be more beautiful.
